Shalain Singh

As the Head of Healthcare and Retirement Living I am responsible for leading and managing Colliers International’s Healthcare & Retirement Living (HRL) team nationally. With service capabilities across valuations, transaction services, strategic and market consulting supported by a team of 16, it is the largest and most specialised HRL team in Australia.

Covering the entire continuum of care from childcare, allied health and medical centres to manufactured housing estates, retirement villages, hospitals and aged care, the team truly represents a whole-of-sector proposition.

Prior to joining Colliers International, I was the Group General Manager of Investor Relations and Strategy for Australia’s first publically listed aged care group, Japara Healthcare, where I project-managed the listing and helped educate the markets, investors and analysts alike about the sector.

Consultation with Government bodies in relation to legislative frameworks, impact analysis and overall trajectory were also part of my mandate along with budgeting and forecasting for the group.

I also assisted with the acquisition of numerous facilities and project managed several due diligence exercises inclusive of investment thesis and analysis.

Before moving into the sector directly, I was a corporate and institutional banker to the aged care and retirement sector holding senior roles and having built businesses and teams across three major Australian banking institutions, focusing on corporate structuring, lending and strategic advisory.

Quite recently, with Colliers International I have been a lead strategist and adviser for portfolio acquisitions from buy or side equation and key adviser for Australia’s leading industry super property fund, and property based healthcare fund for portfolio acquisitions. I have a demonstrated ability in managing and delivering complex, technical outcomes within short timeframes: listings, strategic projects, intensive due diligence
