Barcelona office market is picking up in terms of demand. The increasing pace of the vaccination campaign and less uncertainty are prompting companies to make decisions regarding the rental of office space. Madrid, however, increases availability due to the liberation of spaces as a general trend and experiences a slight contraction in absorption in this first quarter of 2021 compared to 2020.
In terms of investment, Madrid continues to decline while Barcelona increases the capital destinated for offices. We expect in both cases a considerable increase in investment in the coming months as uncertainty in both markets eases.
