Colliers International has been appointed to sell Ironwood Estate Wines, an established winery and cellar door business in Porongurup, a small town in the heart of the Great Southern’s cool climate wine sub-region in Western Australia.
Located north of Albany, Ironwood Estate has vineyards, dams, warehouses and natural bushland on a 45ha property nestled below the Porongurup Range National Park, which has been recognised on the National Heritage List for its unique biological and ecological significance.
The winery produces up to 1,500 cases of premium wine annually which are sold through bottle shops, clubs, restaurants and online, while its cellar door and View Cafe are popular destinations in the region’s busy tourist trail.
Owned and developed by Gene and Mary Harma, the estate also includes a modern two-storey home with sweeping views across the Stirling Ranges.
It will be sold by Colliers International’s Greg O’Meara who said the estate had been meticulously managed and would suit a business owner who was seeking to combine a rural lifestyle with a manageable and profitable business.
“A new owner may choose to expand the winemaking capacity, unlock the additional approved tourism potential for the property, or take it as it is and enjoy all that this region has to offer,” Mr O’Meara said.
“There are also development plans for a major cellar door and function centre facility at the winery, a hillside chalet development and an aquaculture enterprise.”
