James Young

Specialising in office leasing precommitment, James has been actively involved in significant Adelaide CBD projects that have changed the city's skyline.  Current projects include the Entrepreneur and Innovation Centre, Lot Fourteen on behalf of the Government of South Australia (Renewal SA) and Festival Tower with Walker Corporation. 

In his role as State Chief Executive, James facilitates many opportunities throughout the local business on behalf of clients and customers of Colliers.  Accordingly, his knowledge of South Australian property activity across all sectors is extensive.

James is an active leader demonstrated by high volume of  referral activity, is an enthusiastic collaborator and leads the local Office Asset Class team.

Since 2003, James has been the instigator for the pre-commitment and subsequent leasing of City Central Towers 1, 2 and 8 in Adelaide (totalling 81,000 square metres), all of which have achieved 5-star Green Star and 5-star NABERS (Energy) ratings.

James was joint Vice President and Divisional Councillor of the Property Council of Australia (SA Division) between 2004 and 2013 and is an active speaker and participant in professional development forums in the evolution of ESD and innovation in the built environment in South Australia.

Since 2013 he has been Vice President of the Australia China Business Council and Chair of the Property Sub-Committee in South Australia to elevate the level of advice and service that can be offered to Chinese Investors and Developers as they contemplate South Australia as a legitimate destination to invest and generate business.
