Alexander is one of 30 women selected by the magazine’s editors and publishers for their inaugural list.
Colliers International in Virginia is pleased to announce Julie Alexander, managing director of Real Estate Management Services (REMS) Norfolk, has been awarded one of 30 coveted spots in the Virginia Business inagural Women in Leadership Awards. More than 200 women business leaders were nominated.
“I am truly grateful for the support I have received over the years and the many professionals I have had the opportunity to work with who contributed to my success,” stated Alexander.
Alexander has been with Colliers for over 35 years. As a managing director for REMS Norfolk, she oversees the Norfolk and Hampton Roads portfolio, which consists of more than 8.3 million square feet while also directly managing more than 800,000 square feet of commercial properties.
In addition, Alexander has received multiple industry designations including the Real Property Administrator (RPA®) designation from the Building Owners and Managers Association and the Certified Property Manager (CPM®) from Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), the premier property management certification world-wide. Alexander was a board member for IREM for more than a decade and is currently a board member for the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center.
According to Virginia Business, the women selected had to be based in Virginia and hold significant c-suite or equivalent leadership positions at for-profit businesses. Honorees’ overall career accomplishments, community involvement, and mentorship were significant factors in choosing the honorees.
