Roxanne Stevenson and Casey Scott represented Gerrity Group in the lease to fitness operator, Crunch Fitness, in Legends at Sparks Marina
The 30,000 square foot anchor space, previously occupied by Best Buy, is centrally located within the 1.3 million square foot power center, The Legends at Sparks Marina, which is anchored by Scheel’s Sporting Goods, Target, Lowe’s and Galaxy IMAX Theaters. Legends is occupied by an outstanding mix of retailers and outlet stores, including TJ Maxx, Old Navy, Nike, H&M, Gap, Petco, and Banana Republic. Restaurants in the center include Blaze Pizza, Jersey Mike’s, Chick-fil-A, Habit Burger, Chipotle, Jimmy John’s, and Taco Bell. Located on the junction of Interstate 80 and Sparks Boulevard, the center is highly visible to more than 85,000 cars daily. “The former Best Buy location will be transformed into a hub of activity that provides a much needed service for the surrounding single family, multi-family, and hotel properties.” Casey Scott, Colliers | Reno.
In a region that has been met with many hurdles throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, retail activity spent the last year adapting to business mandates and customer capacity limits. Fortunately, Reno is poised for a rebound in the coming months with plans to return to 100 percent business capacity by the 1st of June. The greater Reno/Sparks area has experienced 11.6 percent population growth from 2015 to 2020. National retail sales saw a seasonally adjusted 9.8 percent surge in March, the largest increase in the past 10 months. Loosening restrictions combined with strong population growth and a large uptick in retail sales have set Reno up for a retail revival.
Crunch Fitness has one existing location at 5353 Meadowood Mall Circle in Reno, which it opened in August 2019. It is also opening a new location soon in North Las Vegas. The fitness club focuses on fostering a “No Judgements” community with a philosophy of positivity, inclusivity, and fun. Crunch Fitness plans to open its Sparks location in late Summer 2021. Crunch Fitness has more than 300 locations worldwide and is continuing its rapid growth trajectory.
Colliers is excited to welcome Crunch Fitness to the already diverse tenant mix at the Legends at Sparks Marina. Currently, Colliers represents three other available spaces at Legends: a 7,500 square foot space with co-tenants including TJ-Maxx, PetCo, and Target; a 5,852 square foot restaurant improved space, previously occupied by Fuddruckers; and a 1,200 square foot restaurant improved space, which was formerly Menchies Yogurt.
