FM Global enables global collaboration through seamless portfolio strategy.

Challenge

FM Global sought to create alignment across its 1.2 million-square-foot real estate portfolio in 28 countries to streamline processes and enable collaboration.

Data-driven solution

FM Global chose to partner with Colliers to help them ensure no opportunity across its 28-country real estate footprint went unturned. Colliers worked with FM Global to gather, evaluate and abstract all current real estate documentation and data. Colliers abstracted the lease documentation into the Colliers360 Worktrac technology over a six-month process. The effort culminated in standard and custom report creation that allowed the real estate finance and leadership teams insight into the portfolio of real estate around the world.

On-going support

Upon commencement of the parntership between FM Global and Colliers, Colliers helped FM Global outline clear processes, anticipate internal requirements and drive efficiency throughout the transaction. The long-term partnership between the two has enabled Colliers to consistently evaluate the areas of most significant opportunity for curd new properties and subsequently implement meaningful, proactive recommendations and action.

Results

With the help of Colliers, FM Global seamlessly created alignment across all global regions, streamlined processes and enabled collaboration. The partnership that resulted in increased transparency between FM Global and its real estate partner included weekly calls, full lease administration implementation through Colliers360, FASB/IFRS reporting, standardized financial analysis and annual business reviews. This implementation continues to be crucial to the team's success.
