I’ve only been with Colliers for a little short than two years, but I can say that I’ve learned so much and have grown both personally and professionally. Colliers fosters a culture of self-development, growth, and empowerment. By being surrounded by people in Colliers who make their dreams and ambitions happen, I am always motivated to do better every day.
2. What made you pursue a career in real estate?
They say you’ll never know until you try. I guess what got me here is curiosity and the constant search for new experiences. Every report, research material, or client submission we do in the Tenant Representation team is a different learning experience for me; there’s always a new perspective and new results. More than the technicalities, you’ll learn certain life skills you won’t acquire anywhere else. The real estate industry is dynamic and always changing – and so is everything else. The only way to keep up – or even better, stay ahead – is to keep on learning.
3. In your experience, what is the most important aspect of being a Market Analyst for the Office Services – Tenant Representation team?
Two things: consistency and credibility. Being the research-go-to person in the Tenant Representation team is a lot like being a journalist. You’re given a problem (or a situation) that you have to solve in a pretty short amount of time. You gather as much data as you can, you analyze the data, and you present it back in an easy-to-understand format. I guess in our line of work, the data and information we come up with are always expected to be accurate and relevant as we bear Colliers’ reputation and credibility when we present these to industry partners and clients.
4. What is the best advice that you have received?
One of the things my dad taught is me that a narrow focus brings big results. He says that the primary reason why people give up so fast is because most tend to look at how far they still have to go instead of how far they have come. When we look back on how far we’ve come, we’ll see a series of small wins that can give us the most significant successes.
5. If you meet your younger self, what would you tell her?
