John Avanzino is a Senior Vice President with the Hospitality Practice at Colliers, specializing in debt and structured finance as well as institutional investment sales across all lodging asset classes for Colliers’ and the team’s long-established relationships. John has financed and sold nearly $3.0 billion of hotels and resorts throughout The Americas and Caribbean and raised funds through international efforts with investors including sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
Prior to joining Colliers, John was Vice President at CBRE Hotels and part of the Institutional Group within the capital markets division where he completed sales, advisory, joint venture, financing, leasehold, and development transactions. Select notable achievements include, the Strategic Hotels & Resorts portfolio refinancing, the Loews Arlington Hotel & Convention Center ground-up construction financing, Trinity Investments GP fund raise, Frenchman’s Reef’s redevelopment facility, and the Newport Beach Marriott acquisition and renovation financing. John received the Commercial Observer Top Young Professionals Award (2021), appeared as a panelist at NYU’s Hospitality Investment Conference (2022), and served as a guest lecturer for the Hospitality Asset Managers Association (2020) and NYU’s Schack Institute of Real Estate. Prior to CBRE, John was involved with more than $550 million in acquisitions for value-add and direct development investments at Lowe Enterprises.
Originally from Manhasset, NY, John holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rollins College and a master’s degree from New York University in Real Estate Finance.
Estelle Wang is a Senior Associate with the Hospitality Practice at Colliers Capital Markets, specializing in raising debt and equity capital for acquisition, refinancing, recapitalization, and development of hotel assets and portfolios throughout the Americas, as well as institutional investment sales. Estelle is actively involved in all aspects of the financing, including underwriting, financial analysis, financing memorandum preparation, due diligence, and loan closing. Estelle has been involved in and closed over $1.5 billion in transactions.
Estelle has been an integral part of the Strategic Hotels & Resorts portfolio (JW Marriott Essex House, Four Seasons Washington DC, Westin St. Francis) refinancing, EAST Miami acquisition financing, Loews Arlington Hotel & Convention Center ground-up construction financing, Frenchman’s Reef Marriott resort redevelopment facility, among others.
Estelle has studied and worked in Asia, Europe, and the United States, bringing her global experience and perspective. She worked with IHG's Development team where she completed feasibility studies for 19 proposed hotel projects in Greater China.
Prior to joining Colliers, Estelle was an Associate at CBRE Capital Markets, Institutional Group. Prior to CBRE, Estelle interned with the Commercial Investment Advisory team at Hodges Ward Elliott. Estelle started her career interning in various front and back office capacities at hotels.
Estelle graduated with the highest honors from New York University Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality, earning a BS with a minor in Computer Science/Math, was a recipient of various scholarships including Jonathan M. Tisch Scholarship and HVS Scholarship, and has spoken at the NYU International Hospitality Investment Conference and the BTN Group's Business Travel Hall of Fame Gala.
