Joaquin is Director Mexico | Tenant Advisory Council | Occupier Services responsible for the growth and strategic client relationships and direction of tenant representation business practices in the region. 

Joaquin's commercial real estate career started in 1991 and has a professional experience of more than 29 years of exceptional service in commercial real estate with an emphasis on corporate tenant representation services for major corporations. Joaquin is responsible for the implementation of premier occupier-focused business practices in Mexico and Latinamerica region and is recognized as a leading real estate executive in Mexico City.

Prior to his reincorporation to Colliers International Mexico, he served as  Executive Vice President and Director of Corporate Services at Coldwell Banker Commercial Mexico (2016–2019).

In 2013, as owner/principal and founding partner of Ikon Real Estate Services, S.C.,  he served as Director-General until June 2015. In 2007,  he was President and Director General of JZ Asociados, S.C. collaborating on a wide range of corporate real estate transactions participating as Executive Exclusive Leasing Agent responsible for GICSA's commercial building portfolio, one of Mexico’s leading high-end commercial, retail and residential developers, where he was responsible for marketing strategy and day-to-day commercial leasing operations and completed more than $110 million dollars in lease transactions for over 1.3 million square feet of prime corporate commercial space.

Joaquin played an important role in the consolidation of Colliers International Mexico (1995-2007), and a major role in the implementation of regional services including corporate solutions serving as Senior Director of the Corporate Services Division, responsible for leading a highly specialized corporate services team focusing on the real estate needs of major regional and international corporations, responsible for the leasing of over 3.8 million square feet of commercial real estate. A multiple-year recipient of the worldwide Colliers International Award of Excellence for his outstanding performance as Top Producer International in 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000.

Joaquin held executive positions at Koll/Cushman Realty Mexico and other prestigious commercial real estate firms in Mexico City (1991–1995). Prior to pursuing a career in corporate real estate, Joaquin served as Director of Architectural Tourism Projects at Bancomer, Mexico’s leading banking institution (1984-1991). His responsibilities included financial and architectural feasibility analysis of over 550 tourism development projects nationwide in Mexico.
