Karlo Pobre

Karlo has more than 12 years of experience in the real estate industry. He started his career as an analyst in Colliers International Philippines in 2010 under the consultancy and advisory services, specializing in feasibility studies, highest and best use analyses, financial modeling and financial due diligence. In 2013, he relocated in Myanmar to start the advisory and valuation service line, consequently involving regional project assignments in Thailand, Hongkong and Singapore. Karlo was promoted as Deputy Managing Director and Managing Director in 2018 and 2019, respectively. Currently, he also leads the Capital Market Services, representing multiple asset types in Myanmar (residential, industrial, commercial and mixed-use developments) for joint venture, capital debt injection and financing purposes, as well as outright sale of the properties.

Karlo has successfully concluded consultancy assignments in the Philippines with major conglomerates such as Ayala Corp., SM Prime, Robinsons Land Corp. and DMCI Homes, to name some.

In Myanmar, he has established his coverage to top international firms working closely with Japanese developers such as Mitsubishi Estate, Kajima Corporation, Sumitomo Realty Development Co., Ltd., Tokyo Tatemono as well as key Chinese clients namely CFLD, CCCC, CHEC, CRCC, CRBC, China Railway Group Norinco, Bauing Group and Country Garden.

Karlo has also pioneered the consultancy work for many of the highly notable and large-scale developments in the country including:

·    60-acre TOD Yangon Central Railway Redevelopment (Yangon), development cost of USD1.8 billion.

·    20,000-acre Township Size Mixed-use New Yangon City Development (Yangon), development cost of USD89 billion 

·    500-acre PPT Landed Residential and Leisure Development (Mandalay), development cost of USD900 million

·    6,000-acre Valuation for Dawei Special Economic Zone (Dawei), investment value USD8.6 billion.

Some of his recent milestones include a successful advisory and valuation assignment that led for Ayala Corp. to land in an unprecedent deal with Myanmar conglomerate, YOMA Strategic Holdings and First Myanmar Investment.  Since building the Capital Market Service line in 2018, Karlo currently and collectively represents more than 6,000 acres of investment listings intended for residential, commercial and industrial uses.
