About Me
Having started his career as a Registered Valuer, Shane entered the real estate profession in 1993 with iconic Stock & Station company Pyne Gould Guinness Ltd. During this time Shane was involved in the sale of some of Canterbury's iconic farm properties becoming Company Real Estate Manager in 1998.
In 2002 Shane was a key driver in establishing Bayleys Real Estate as a major force in the Canterbury market becoming Managing Director and shareholder in the franchise in 2005.
After 11 years with Bayleys, Shane formed Northington AgriCapital Ltd a specialist rural Investment Bank before establishing Colliers first NZ Rural franchise in October 2014.
Shane has over 26 years of rural real estate experience and has been a Managing Director, Licensee, shareholder and Rural Manager in one of New Zealand’s largest rural real estate franchises. Shane has established a very strong track record of working with the vendors of some of New Zealand’s most iconic farm properties, from intensive dairy farms and traditional farm units through to high country stations. He has been involved in all aspects of real estate including campaign management, marketing, negotiation and buyer identification from both local and international markets (including several overseas property expos).
Shane has extensive experience in Mortgagee and Receivership sales and portfolio sell downs for private, corporate and public entities. This hands-on sales experience is supported by over 14 years as a manager of rural sales teams for both Pyne Gould Guinness Limited and Bayleys Real Estate. Shane has exceptionally strong rural networks across New Zealand and an unrivalled understanding of the rural market in New Zealand and over two decades Shane has established himself as a key player in the NZ rural real estate profession. This was acknowledged in 2008 when Shane was made a Fellow of the Real Estate Institute of NZ and became a Director of Real Estate Institute of New Zealand in 2019.
Shane has addressed numerous industry forums and been part of international marketing initiatives.
