About Me
Joaquin Zapiain is Director | Mexico with Colliers Mexico Tenant Advisory Council responsible for the growth and strategic client relationships and tenant representation business practices.
Joaquin's commercial real estate career spans nearly three decades of commercial real estate outstanding expertise and a stellar reputation for success in corporate tenant advisory and representation services for major multi-national corporations. Joaquin specializes in providing comprehensive solutions to office occupiers in Mexico, supporting them in developing real estate strategies that maximize the potential of a property and accelerate success.
Prior to his reincorporation to Colliers Mexico (April 2019), he served as Executive Vice President and Director of Corporate Services at Coldwell Banker Commercial Mexico (2016 -2019).
In 2013, as owner/principal and founding partner of Ikon Real Estate Services, served as Director-General until June 2016.
In 2007, as President and Director-General of JZ Asociados, S.C., collaborated on a wide range of corporate real estate transactions participating as Executive Exclusive Leasing Agent of GICSA’s commercial building portfolio, one of Mexico’s leading high-end commercial developers, responsible for marketing strategy and day-to-day commercial leasing operations and completed more than $110 million dollars in lease transactions for over 1.3 million square feet of prime corporate commercial space.
Joaquin is experienced in a wide range of services including Tenant Advisory Occupier Services, Business Development, Consultancy Services, and Corporate Transactions. He earned a double degree in Architecture from the University of Southern California, is a Certifed Commercial Investment Member and Certified Real Estate Professional in Mexico City.
Joaquin has developed an excellent knowledge of regional markets across Mexico's commercial real estate sector.
