The last couple of decades saw growing popularity and inflow of capital in REITs.

Real estate investment trust (REIT) is a company that owns and operates or finances income-generating real estate. Modeled after mutual funds, REITs pool the capital of numerous investors. This makes it possible for individual investors to earn dividends from real estate investments – without having to buy, manage, or finance any properties themselves. REITs are highly regulated in most markets, mandating that most of the returns are distributed to the investors via dividends.

Ivan joined Colliers in June 2018 as a Junior Consultant in the Investment, Valuation and Advisory services department. Since joining Colliers he showed exceptional skills, and was promoted three times. As of the beginning of 2023, Ivan works as Manager in Capital Markets departments. In this role his focus is on investment transactions (standing assets and land for development), buy and sell-side representation, investment and development advisory and sourcing financing for commercial real estate products and developments. His responsibilities also include business development, client relationship and mentoring junior colleagues.  

Prior to becoming Manager in Capital Markets department, Ivan worked as a Senior Consultant in Valuation and Advisory services department, where his worked was concentrated on valuations (hotel, office, retail, industrial/logistics, land, residential), feasibility and highest and best use studies, financial modelling and analysis, market research and NPL portfolio valuation.

Ivan has experience with many domestic and international clients, such as: PBZ, Plava Laguna, Generali, Deutche Bank, Bain Capital, World Bank, Eagle Hills and others.

Prior to joining Colliers and during his studies, Ivan worked in the financial industry and corporate finance. Ivan holds a Master’s degree from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb. He also gained a “Financial Modelling and Valuation Analyst” certificate at Corporate Finance Institute and passed CFA Level I exam.
