Mike Powell, Senior Transaction Manger - LGIM
I have worked with James for a number of years in my capacity as Transaction Manager at Legal and General. James has worked with us on the three largest acquisitions made to date for the L&G Build to Rent Fund including two sites in Wandsworth and one in Woolwich Town Centre. Based on this work I would rank him as one of the leading consultants we have worked with, bringing off market opportunities forward, partnered with invaluable advice which has enabled us to secure the above sites. James always comes across as highly intelligent when acting for us on transactions. His superb analytical and communication skills have built a strong relationship not just with myself but also with personnel across the BTR Fund team. This has been reflected in the number of deals done with James and Colliers, who have been the principle consultant instructed on acquisitions to date.
Des Wicks, Group Land Director - Inland Homes
Over the past 5 years I have worked extensively with James on a number of acquisitions and disposals for Inland Homes Plc. In particular over the past year James has acted for us on a disposal of a 60 unit scheme in Meppershall where we achieved a sale price in excess of our aspirations despite a challenging marketplace and transactional timeframe. James was a crucial part of the team which ensured the transaction concluded in a timely manner in line for our financial year end. More recently James acted for Inland on a £28m unconditional acquisition which had considerable technical and legal issues which he provided comprehensive advice on throughout. I would consider James to be a key contact of our business and look forward to continuing to work with him in the future.
James Trelfa, Director - Danescroft Land Limited
I have known James personally for now over 4 years and consider him a key contact. He is well known in the industry and has a reputation for getting deals done in a discrete and efficient manner. James is an important source of land opportunities to Danescroft and we consider him a key contact. In the last 18 months he has acted for us on an important acquisition in Newport Pagnell, which he is subsequently now selling with the benefit of planning consent, as well as transacting with us on another land deal, which he is instructed to dispose of once consented. We consider James a trusted adviser and in addition to the above transactions’ he advises the company on the viability, desirability and indeed eventual demand for the majority of our acquisitions. He provides important and considered advice, in a timely and efficient manner.
